Love Forever
My husband, John Carlos Prieto and I joined hands and hearts last year of February twenty-two at San Agustin Church and Museum in Manila. It was a Modernized Victorian, Avant Garde inspired themed wedding. Dinner and dancing followed at the romantic Champagne Room of the iconic Manila Hotel. A solemn, intimate wedding of our dreams celebrated with hundred and fifty guests only. The day was beautifully painted in golds, whites and silvers. I designed my entourage modern Victorian gowns, as well as my minimalist wedding gown, matched with a structured detachable looped train with silver lining. I also wore a Sto. Nino inspired hand painted cape with silver embroidery at the reception, which also resembles the huge bow of the wedding cake. The use of paints was perfectly styled in our wedding. Pearls paired with gold paints as hair accessory for the ladies, spray painted fresh cabbage flowers and roses for the entourage, and gold leaves for the guests which I personally hand written all the guest names on it. The painted modern formosa leaves at the church aisle was a great contrast against the trompe l'oeil ceiling of San Agustin. The sketch portrait booth at the reception matched our sketched save the date video and gold leaves with hand written guest names on it. The simple but elegant look of our wedding invite definitely speaks Modern Victorian. The gold round and letter balloons reminded me of our wedding logo from our invite, so Victorian! The addition of ghost chairs, use of lucite rosary boxes, transparent confetti and crystal tress really modernized the look of the wedding. Every little details were carefully thought out to make the styling consistent and inspirational. All in all, everything just looked regal but still fashion forward and youthful. A truly memorable day for all us. I was very hands on with all the designs and styling of our wedding, and would you believe that I even art directed the photography and videography of our wedding day? Yes, I am such a perfectionist bride, hehe. It was tiring but worth it because I had more than a year to prepare for our big day. And of course, I had the best team to work with us to make everything truly a one of a kind celebration. I hope these photos bring to life the Modern Victorian, Avant Garde celebration of our wedding day. To inspire all of you to think out of the box and to be the most authentic person you can be. Cheers to modern brides! Love Forever!
